I understand. For years, I only used Linux as my main system. I spent at least 95% of my time in Linux with over half of that in a terminal session. There are still things that I want the flexibility and risks of root access for. I use Linux on embedded systems, where it's the only way to go. Linux folks have been declaring that Linux is ready for the desktop for years, but that is really only true for geeks. If I can somehow get a better Macbook, I will, but that will probably not happen.

I need a quad core i7 with at least 16GB of RAM (preferably expandable to 32GB).
